DP Ruto reveals how he will fight for presidency in 2022
Deputy President Dr. William Ruto has said he is not for anyone to endorse him to become the next president after Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.
The DP said said he is ready to fight off with all those who will be eyeing the presidency seat.
He was speaking at his home in Sugoi after hosting leaders from Busia and Bungoma county who reiterated their support to his 2022 presidential ambition.
“In politics one needs to fight to emerge victorious and not just sitting and waiting to be handed the president. I will fight for it,” said Dr. Ruto.
He reiterated that endorsement will elevate the prospects of candidates with no development track-record to power.
“There some people sitting waiting to be endorsed, you need to fight for it. I am ready to face off with anybody who wants to lead this country in 2022,” added the Deputy president.
The Deputy President further said that he opposes the call by some politician to merge wards, constituencies and counties saying he will not support such plan in the referandum.
He said he will only support the constitution to be changed if it will devolve more funds to counties for Kenyans to benefit.
