Mandago clash with senator in a function

Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei clashed on a function.

Mandago literally reprimanded Cherargei for misleading wananchi over development matters including crop diversification.

While speaking in Kurgung during a burial of Sammy Rono a brother to former governor Cleophas Lagat, Cherargei told residents not to be cheated into crop diversification.

He said they should stick with maize farming and not to plant avocado.

DP William Ruto had asked maize farmers to also diversify and plant avovados for income.

But Cherargei opposed it saying he had not even seen one.

Mandago told off Cherargei that he should not mislead Raiya.

"No one has told you to stop planting maize but what we want is you to plant avocado also.That is diversification.Cherargei you should stop misleading people,"Mandago said.

He said the senator should book a date for further enlightenment on such issues and leadership.

This did not go well with the mourners as it was seen as a disrespect to the DP by the senator.
