Uhuru's call that made Raila cancel his Kamukunji rally

 


On Sunday 7th march 2021, Orange democratic movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga was set to attend a political rally at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi.

However the former premier had to skip the rally following a call he received from the head of state.

Sources privy to the unfolding indicate that Uhuru made a call to Raila who was set to attend a rally in Kamukunji to make major announcement about the handshake.

This followed James Orengo's and MP Otiende Amollo claims that there was a plan to sabotage the handshake and bar Raila from ascending to power in 2022.

The two had stated that, the ODM would back out of the handshake deal between Uhuru and Raila, if the powerful individuals at the office of president will continue interfering with the nation politics.However, one of the ODM’s party top officials disclosed to a local media house that, the president had phoned his handshake partner with regards of handshake after alleged fallout.
