Former CS Chelugui shocking warning over Gachagua impeachment

Former Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui has urged against divisive politics, calling for unity in the country.

Chelugui, who was dropped from the previous cabinet following protests by Generation Z, emphasized the need for national cohesion and cautioned against  the current efforts on  Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua impeachment.

The Deputy President Rigathi Gachaua was on Tuesday last week impeached by the National Assembly where 281 MPs voted  to support his removal from office and 44 were against it.

The senate will begin hearing the impeachment charges against Gachagua this week.

Speaking in church on Suday, Chelugui warned that such moves could destabilize the country and lead to unnecessary political tension. He stressed the importance of focusing on national progress rather than partisan interests, urging leaders to work together for the greater good of the country.

"As the focus turns to the Senate this week, our prayer is for the country to remain united. Kenya cannot afford to be divided," Chelugui stated.

He also underscored the importance of respecting the will of the people, saying, "We must honor the choices made by citizens in the elections and respect the leaders they have elected."
