University student from Nandi found dumped in a maize plantation
A 22-year-old university student has been found killed in the Kiamunyi area of Nakuru County and dumped in a maize plantation.
Local resident Brighton Roman, who was
returning home from a shop, first spotted the body.
He raised the alarm, and three nearby
farmworkers quickly joined him. One of the witnesses contacted the area
sub-chief, who responded to the scene.
According to the Area chief Wilson Maraga
receipts in her handbag showed she left Thika for Nakuru on Saturday afternoon.
“The bust ticket indicates that she
was from Thinka and she arrived in Nakuru in the evening. Documents found on
her show that she is from Nandi South and not in Nakuru,” he told journalists.
The Chief said the student could have
been killed far away and the body dumped in Kiamunyi.
“The security of the area is not bad.
The body was most likely dumped here because there are not so many people
around,” he said.
Maraga urged the people in the area to
remain calm as officers from the DCI carried out our investigations.
