Northrift MPs castigates rebel legislators from the region

Some of the Northrift MPs have castigated the region’s legislators who are against DP William Ruto’s ambition of becoming Kenya’s president.

The MPs claimed that Nandi Hills Mp Alfred Keter, Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany) and Silas Tiren (Moiben) who were ardent supporters of Ruto previously are being used by other forces to derail Ruto’s quest.

The three legislators fell out with the DP following some differences.

Keter’s relationship with Ruto became got frosty when he went against his ideologies while Kuttuny maintained low profile after he was dumped when he lost the Cherangany seat in 2013.  

Tiren on the other hand went against Ruto’s directive to step down from the parliamentary committee leadership post in favour of another candidate.

Tiren has in many occasions been seen at Kabarak welcoming guests after joining Gideon Moi’s camp.

Aldai MP Cornelly Serem

Speaking in Nandi on Friday, Aldai MP Cornelly Serem said the legislators had been lured with money to taint Ruto’s reputation.

“We know that you are being lured in order to move around trying to malign the deputy president. I want to tell you that the DP will be the next president of Kenya,”Serem said.

Chesumei MP Wilson Kogo

Chesumei MP Wilson Kogo said Ruto is unstoppable in his quest to presidency.Kogo added that the rebel MPs should come to their senses and work together for the common good of the region.

“The development Ruto has done and his influence on the national politics can be wished away. The DP is a national leader and no one should reprimand him. We will not allow that,” He said.

Mosop MP Vincet Tuwei called on the leaders to campaign for their candidate without maligning anyone.

“If you have your own candidate please campaign for without talking ill of anyone.Why should you want favour from tainting one’s image.And by the way, who is closer to the top seat?”Tuwei said.
