New school opening dates announced

The school opening dates for term one 2019 have been altered by the Ministry of Education.

In a circular released on 24th December, 2018, the ministry announced that new opening date for schools countrywide is on 3rd January as opposed to earlier date that had 2nd of January. 

Explaining the rationale behind the new changes, the Ministry indicated that the move was meant to give parents and also students enough time to travel to their respective destinations after Christmas and new year festivities.

“In order to allow time for learners and teachers who may have traveled to various places during the holiday season to return to their institutions, the opening day is rescheduled to 3rd January 2019,” the circular that was sent to school heads and Principals reads in part.
