Shocking report on Mandago's Government
The Auditor General report has revealed shocking details on how Uasin Gishu County can't account for some funds used in the projects.
The report revealed that Uasin County Government constructed 4 toilet blocks at a cost of KSh 7.8 million and construction of two bridges at a cost of Sh 32million.
The money used on bridges and toilets cannot be explained.
The toilets, report said, were constructed in Kuinet, Burnt Forest, Sogomo and Jua Kali markets however they have not been used till date.
“A physical verification of the projects carried out in January 2018 revealed that the construction works was complete although the projects had not been handed over to the county government,”read the audit report.
The same toilets could not be put into use due to lack of septic tanks.
“However the toilets cannot be put into use due to lack of septic tanks and water connections which were not included in tenders for construction,”said Auditor General Robert Ouko.
Accordting to the report, Uasin Gishu residents didn't get value for the money spent on toilets.
