CoG elects new chairperson
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has beend elected as the new Council of Governors chairperson.
He defeated five other candidates to win the seat.
He will now take over from the outgoing chairman Governor Josphat Nanok of Turkana.
Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, his Kirinyaga counterpart Anne Waiguru, and three other county bosses were in the race.
The others were Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu) Salim Mvurya of Kwale County.
Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria will now take over as the CoG Vice Chair from Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru.
