Fridge kills a woman

A woman in Mwanzo estate of Eldoret  on Wednesday night died allegedly after inhaling smoke from a refrigerator that exploded in her house.

It is said that one of her neighbours tried helping the  45-year-old woman after she heard her distress call.

The neighbour said she heard her scream but when she tried breaking the door, she could not manage with her other neighbours failing to respond.

“We heard her screaming and at the same time there was smoke from her house.We tried waking up other neighbours to no avail and the woman lost her life,"She said.

 Her two sons managed to escape through the window with one of them being admitted at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

According to the police, the woman might have suffocated from the gas produced by the refrigerator that exploded.
