Eldoret farmers calls for action within 48 hours

Farmers in Uasin Gishu have given the National government   48 hours to pen the  National Cereals and Produce Board for farmers to deliver their produce failure to which they hold the biggest demonstration ever witnessed.

Led by Kenya farmers Association [KFA] Director Kipkorir Arap Menjo they said that despite President Uhuru Kenyatta directing NCPB to open its stores  its yet to be done.

“If by Wednesday morning the NCPB will not have been opened we will close all roads in Eldoret town with our lorries and business will not be as usual at the Uganda road,” said Menjo.

“We will also close roads in Moisbride Kitale and all other areas where we have the NCPB depots,” added the Uasin Gishu Kenya Farmers Association, Director.

They wondered why the presidential directive had not been followed yet he is the head of state.

“ Who is cheating us is it the president or NCPB or ministry of Agriculture, surely what is going. As I am talking we have over 40 tractors and lorries lining up to take their produce to NCPB  but there is no communication from the officials as to why the gates are closed yet the line is becoming longer and longer,” the KFA director wondered,” he said.
