Mosop MP Tuwei new directive to schools' Board of Management
Mosop
MP Vincent Tuwei has given new direction on the composition of the primary and
secondary school board of management.
According
to Tuwei, the Education Act should be followed to the latter in composing the
members to be in either primary or secondary schools’ board of management.
Education
Act stipulates that for one to sit in the secondary school BOM, he or she
should have a degree while those in the primary school should posses a
certificate and above in any field.
While
speaking during December holiday, Tuwei said he will not allow anyone without
such qualifications to sit in the board.
“The
education act must be implemented to the latter. We need competent people to
sit in the board of management of our schools in Mosop constituency,”Tuwei
said.
“I
appreciate the fact that some of them are the founders but you know the law
must be followed. We will organize a ceremony for you guys for the great work
you have done since inception of such schools as we move into the new era,” He
added.
Tuwei
blamed BOM in some schools for slow pace in development adding that some have
misused their allocated Constituency Development Funds for development.
“I
need to see development being done in schools according to the allocated funds.
Money has been disbursed to schools for development but I am shocked that some
have chosen not to do anything with the money while others are misusing it,” He
said.
“Get
it from me that it is better for me to allocate more money to the schools that
have shown commitment in utilizing it for development,” He added.
