Tuju told to resign
County Assemblies from Rift Valley have given the secretary general of the Jubilee Party 7 days to either resign or apologise to the deputy president.
They said Tuju disrespected the Deputy president when he said there was no agreement for him to be the Jubilee automatic presidential candidate come 2022.
But speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Saturday led by Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker David Kiplagat they said that Tuju had failed in his mandate as the party secretary-general.
"We are giving him seven days to apologize or else we will stop our subscription we make to the Jubilee party until a proper meeting is called by all leaders so that we can decide the way forward,” said the Uasin Gishu County assembly boss.
The County Assemblies that had representation during the press briefing include Baringo, Turkana, West Pokot, Transzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeiyo Marakwet, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Nakuru and Samburu.
“Any official in the party should know that Jubilee has its owners and we are the owners any statement purported to be done by the official from Jubilee Party should be in support of the leadership of Jubilee,” added Kiplagat.
He further noted that statements coming from the Jubilee officials should be uniting and not dividing the party.
