Former Nandi Governor Lagat declare his 2022 political interest

Former Nandi County Governor Cleophas Lagat has declared his political interest in the 2022 elections.

Lagat was unseated by current Governor Stephen Sang die to dismal performance in terms of development.

Speaking last week during a burial in Kurgung, Lagat said he was still interested in vying for a political seat.

"I served for one term and I heard other governors calling for an extension of the term limit.You know if you are given 10 years and you have done nothing in first term then there is no way you will perform,"He said.

"But for me I am still in the race and will go for the one that will enable me formulate policies to operationalize county governments,"He said.

This was interpreted to mean that he will vie for senatorial position.
