Fury over Ruto's London speech
A cabal of leaders from the NASA coalition have trained their guns on Deputy President William Ruto following his anti-referendum remarks during the Chatham house address.
MPs Otiende Amollo (ODM, Rarieda) and Godfrey Osotsi (ANC) joined John Mbadi the ODM National Chairman and secretary-general Edwin Sifuna in castigating the DP as a an ‘enemy of inclusivity’.
While holding an address at the Chatham House, Ruto appeared to suggest that a referendum, a boundary review and General Election in a span of 5 years was not economically feasible.
“Do we have the resources to do the census this year, a boundary review next year, an election in 2022 and a referendum in between? Is it reasonable? Let us put these questions into context,” Ruto said.
John Mbadi, following the address said the referendum push was no longer a matter of debate and accused Ruto of being out of touch with the reality in the country.
“Matters of inclusivity are more important than the cost of a referendum. What the DP needs to do is join other Kenyans in fighting graft so that we have enough money for a referendum,” Mbadi said.-Citizen Digital
