Mandago plans for rift elected leaders meeting in a move aimed uniting the region ahead of 2022 polls
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago is organising for a meeting that will bring together all the elected leaders in Rift valley region.
While speaking on Saturday, he said all the leaders should speak in one voice in supporting the DP William Ruto for 2022 presidency.
This comes as the region faces a split with Ruto and Baringo senator Gideon Moi leading different factions.
Rebel MPs Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany),Silas Tiren (Moiben), Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills),Governor Alex Golf is among others have shifted their allegiance to Gideon.

They have opposed Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
Mandago's decision to summon all the elected leaders was necessitated by Kalenjin elders who blasted the leaders for attacking each other in public over Uhuru Kenyatta succession debate.
"I accept that it has been long since when we had a meeting as leaders from the region.But leave it to me because I am going to plan for a meeting with the leaders,"Mandago told the elders at the burial ceremony of his late brother John Kinyor.
He said the meeting is meant to cement leader's support for the DP ahead of 2022 elections.
"We should not be the one opposing Ruto because he has support from all over Kenya.We will iron few issues as leaders,"He said.
Rebel leaders had accuses Ruto's close allies of frustrations hence the move to decamp.
Tolgos mentioned Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet and Soy MPs Caleb Kositany but the latter over the weekend defended himself that at no point he had chased anyone from Jubilee or Ruto's camp.
