Three Nandi MPs apologises to Governor Sang
Three MPs from Nandi County have apologised to Governor Stephen Sang, a source privy to the current unfolding of grabbed public land repossession reveals.
In a press statement yesterday, Sang said MPs from the county were duped into siding with masters of impunity who forcefully grabbed public land in order to deviate from fighting for their rights.
Sang was on Monday arrested and spend a night in a police cells in Kisumu after the MPs called for his arrest following his move to reclaim a land allegedly belonging to the public in Nandi County.
But Kibwari Company through its Director Allan Kosgey has claimed ownership.
Sang's heroic reception by the residents of Nandi after his release on Tuesday send shockwaves to the political leaders who seem to have sided with the wealthier.
Hundreds of residents lined up along the road from Kopere to Mosoriot to show solidarity to Sang who had to make several stop overs to address the public.
According to Kapseret MP Osca Sudi, the MPs were compromised and forgotten their campaign pledges of reclaiming public grabbed land.
But sources indicate that three MPs have reached out to Sang for apology on account that they were duped.
It is said the MPs were worried that land issues in Nandi are very sensitive and might backfire on them politically after appearing to be opposing the process.
Sang yesterday urged the leaders to reconsider supporting him in reclaiming public grabbed land adding that due process will be followed.
Sang led the public in recovering a land reserved for Kaburet Cattle dip block 2/234 however the charge sheet indicated that he invaded land reference number 6075.
