The heated exchange occurred during a burial ceremony in Chesumei, Nandi, and revolved around the allocation of roads contracts.
CS Murkomen sternly rebuked Senator Cherarkei for his earlier comments advocating for a local contractor from his community to be awarded a road tender within the county.
Murkomen, speaking passionately in the local Kalenjin dialect, accused Cherarkei of opposing a contractor's selection merely because of their ethnicity, emphasizing that the government's contract awards are based on fairness and devoid of tribal bias.
During the same funeral event, Senator Cherarkei had advocated for the allocation of a road project to a local contractor, emphasizing the potential benefits for the residents.
Now Cherarkei has vowed not to relent in his fight saying
his intention is to push the CS to have roads in Nandi done.
