Mandago lights Christmas tree
Uasin Gishu Governor H.E EGH Jackson Mandago has asked locals to share with the less fortunate in society during this Christmas season.
Speaking at the County headquarters in Eldoret town when he presided over the Governor's Tree lighting ceremony, Mandago said “When it comes to Christmas season it's time to reflect and also to thank God for how far he has brought you from January to the end of the year."
“We should also help those who are less fortunate in the society. Let's make our contribution and touch their lives during this festive season,” he added.
The county boss further assured residents that their security is guaranteed this festive season pointing out that sufficient security measures have already been put in place.
“I want to assure residents that we have beefed up security, those who want to travel to the villages to greet their relatives should do so without any fear of their safety," he said.
Mandago also issued a Stern warning to pick pockets targeting unsuspecting members of the public in Eldoret town and other urban areas across the county.
“Look for another town or go for Christmas early because if found, you will be arrested and detained in police cells until next year," cautioned the county boss.
