Mandago responds to Auditor General report on misuse of funds
Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has responded to the Auditor General's report on the misuse of public finds.
Last week AG report indicated that the county could not account for sh 7 million for the construction of four toilets,sh 32 million for construction of two bridges and 5 million for domestics travel.
Mandago refuted the report saying his development track record is impressive and he can account for every cent used in development.
Speaking to the press on Saturday during the end of year party at the county headquarters, the vocal Northrift politician said he could not ascertain the motive of the report since everything done on the use of public funds are accounted for.
"Even the members of the public can check on the report on the money we use on development. It is open.I have embraced transparency and accountability as a person holding public office"said Mandago.
He said already the county will receive increased allocation after qualifying audit report for proper use of funds.
"It is very ridiculous that we are set to receive increased allocation of resources from treasury for proper use of money yet Auditor General is indicating figures not adding up"he said.
