Nandi County to establish ICT hubs to equip youth with digital skills for online jobs

Nandi County is working with the National Government in setting up ICT hubs in a move aimed at empowering youth with technological skills.
Speaking during a graduation ceremony for youth on Nandi who successfully completed ICT training program, Governor Stephen Sang said they are aligning with the government's ICT empowerment initiative for youth.
"These hubs play a pivotal role in equipping young people with essential technology skills, enabling them to tap into the digital job market." Sang Said.

Sang said apart from advancing technology, ICT hubs will lead to improved livelihoods.
"The importance of these ICT hubs cannot be overstated, as they are instrumental in nurturing and advancing technological expertise among our youth, ultimately enhancing their livelihoods." He added.
He lauded the national government's initiative Ajira Digital.
"The introduction of the National Government's Ajira Digital platform further amplifies these efforts, offering a game-changing opportunity for our youth to harness their digital potential."
About 1378 youth drawn from different parts of the county graduated.
"Congratulations to these talented youth, and I wholeheartedly encourage them to transform these acquired skills into real-life opportunities by leveraging the digital landscape at their disposal."
